Gateway Media Literacy Partners (GMLP) has announced the selection of Jessica Bellomo as its new President. She will replace longtime President, media literacy advocate, and founder of Gateway Media Literacy Partners, Jessica Z. Brown.
Jessica’s resume includes nine years with the World Affairs Council of St. Louis, including seven years as the Director of Programs and Administration. One of her primary responsibilities includes the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), a state department program that hosts international visitors for three week professional exchanges. In addition to a Master’s in Public Relations with an academic focus in Media Literacy from Webster University, Jessica holds a double undergraduate degree from St. Louis University in Sociology and International Studies with a minor in Political Science, a certificate in Italian Studies, and a certificate in Women’s Studies.
“I am so thrilled to be taking on this exciting new challenge and I look forward to seeing how we, as an organization, take media literacy advocacy and education to the next level,” said Bellomo. “ I truly feel that media literacy can save the world, and I'm happy to have the platform to share that message with the St. Louis community and beyond,” Bellomo added.
“For all this I am both proud of and grateful for all those who understand media literacy has an ability to be a nexus for change; and at this juncture in our institutional life, I'm particularly excited to turn leadership over to Jessica Belllomo,” said Brown. “Jess, as we call her, is poised to work with our wonderful board and partners, and is an exemplary ambassador for media literacy now and in the next stage of our development.”
