About this Presenter
Mary Pat Gallagher is a career educator, having taught in early childhood, elementary, and higher education settings. As an adjunct professor at Webster University, she taught communication and media literacy classes for seven years. Mary Pat also managed KETC Channel Nine’s Outreach and Education Department. She ended her classroom-teaching career as the librarian and elementary writing coach at Immacolata School. In May of 2015 she launched Lolly’s Place, an after-school tutoring program located in the University City Loop.
Mary Pat believes in planting media literacy seeds early in children’s education.
“Just as we teach children to eat their fruits and veggies, brush their teeth, and look both ways before crossing the street, it is never to early to teach children to be savvy media critics, consumers, and creators.” Mary Pat is a GMLP Board member.
